Handmade Ceramic Ripples Pendant in blue, turquoise and green

This pendant has a pattern reminiscent of ripples on water stamped into the wet clay, and has gradient stripes of blue, turquoise and bright green washed across it.

This is from a range of coordinating colourful accessories in a variety of shapes. As with all my jewellery it is made and decorated entirely by hand.

After forming my pendants from fine white clay, I imprint my design. When dry, I sand the back and sides of the pendants and round off any corners to ensure they are super smooth. They then have their first firing. Next I paint them using under-glazes and apply a transparent glaze before firing again to earthenware. Being glazed on both sides, and the edges, they are smooth against the skin whilst retaining the texture of the imprinted design. The result is a pleasantly tactile item.
